How Farewell Can Help

End of life needs rarely fit neatly into one category. Farewell support can begin with a single question or grow and change alongside you.

Planning & Navigation

When you don't know what comes next.

Understand your options, navigate hospice and care systems, find resources, prepare for changing needs, and make practical plans for what lies ahead.

Care & Companionship

When you need another person beside you.

Companionship, caregiver support, respite, education, home and facility visits, bedside presence, and support through active dying.

Advocacy & Family Support

Navigate difficult conversations, communicate wishes, support children and other loved ones, and work through complicated family dynamics.

When important voices need to be heard.
When you need help with what happens next.

After Death Care

Understand your options after a death, including body care, home vigils, funeral and disposition choices, ritual, and immediate family support.

You don’t have to be the person who’s dying to call us.

Sometimes our work begins with the person who is ill or dying. Just as often, it begins with someone who loves them.

Farewell supports spouses and partners, parents, children, siblings, caregivers, friends, and chosen family navigating the impact of serious illness and death.

The person who is ill does not have to want or need death doula care for you to receive support.

Choose the level of support you need.

Some people come to Farewell with one question. Others need ongoing care as circumstances change. We can help you determine the level of support that fits what is happening now.

One relationship. A whole team behind it.

End of life rarely follows a schedule. Needs change, plans shift, and sometimes more support is needed than one person can provide.

Farewell uses a team based approach to care, giving families greater continuity, availability, and support while maintaining a consistent relationship with the doula who knows them best.

Your care may include a primary doula supported by other experienced Farewell doulas when additional presence, respite, bedside care, or coverage is needed.

People Call Farewell When …

  • They’ve been told it may be time for hospice and don’t know what that means or where to begin.

  • Someone they love has received a serious diagnosis, and they want help preparing while continuing to hope and pursue treatment.

  • Caregiving has become overwhelming, and they need guidance, respite, or another trusted person involved.

  • A spouse, parent, child, sibling, or friend needs support, even if the person who is ill doesn’t want a death doula.

  • Family members are struggling to communicate, make decisions, or make sure someone’s wishes are heard.

  • Someone is approaching death and wants companionship, advocacy, preparation, or support for the people they love.

Or simply: death has entered their life, and they don’t know what to do next.

What Clients Are Saying

"Jade's weekly visits help set in motion a smoother transition for both my family and me as I live every single day until the last.  We would have been great friends had we met sooner but I'm so glad to have her support as a doula now."

-Roxane Emigh

“Jade gave us space to express our desires for our child in life and in death, and then she ensured that they were fulfilled.  Jade walked with us through some of the hardest moments and gave us the confidence to support and love our child well to the end of her life on earth and beyond.”

-Andrew & Stephanie McGuire

“At first, I thought we were hiring a doula for our mother—but in truth, we were hiring her for us: for me, my sisters, and my dad. While she was available to support our mom, it became clear that Jade was exactly what we needed.”

-Brittany Bell
