Farewell’s Hands-On Apprenticeship:

Preparing to Apply

The Hands-On Apprenticeship is an intimate, experiential death doula training for those who feel the call to serve with steady presence, refined skills, and the artistry of care. I’m glad you’ve found your way here, the work needs you.

Before you apply, three roots must be set:

Roots in knowledge.
You have completed the Farewell Education Death Doula 101 mini-course and carry the grounding needed for advanced study.

Roots in service.
If you are local to Middle Tennessee, you’ve begun volunteer training or an active volunteer with Alive Hospice or another end-of-life care provider, preparing you to walk beside patients when shadowing opportunities arise.

Roots in relationship.
If we have not yet met, you’ve scheduled a Meet Jade session so we can sit together, even across a screen, and see if this path is the right next chapter for you.

Once these roots are in place, you may offer your application. Spaces are few and applicants are chosen with care, for you, for me, and for the communities we serve. If the fit is not here, I will gladly help you find where it may flourish.
